“The works I have produced over the years reflect, admittedly, a negative view of the world. Instead of putting humankind on a pedestal and regarding its traditions and culture with reverence, I prefer to dwell on the abuse of unequal relationships between people, and between people and other animals. This commentary on human behavior is presented in the most traditional form, paintings and drawings, with the aim of ensuring broader accessibility.”
Rebecca Wolfram was born in Oregon but has been a painter in Chicago for many years. She usually paints in oil on traditional canvas or other surfaces, and has exhibited in numerous U.S. venues over the years, including La Llorona Gallery, Chicago; Elmhurst College; the Illinois State Museum. She has also been showing her work in Mexico in several locations.
